I would like to collect all 2e CC's for San Marino, Vatican and Monarco. I have a San Marino 2e CC's.
I like collecting the 2e CC's because they have many designs, relatively low mintage and are quite easy to get. Also they are the same size as the circulating 2 euros. I have even found some 2e CC's in circulation. But I collect strictly 100% UNC coins for my collection.

Is it possible to exchange 2 euro CC's with other forum members?

Ozzie: while you're welcome here on CCF, please be aware that you can't talk about buying, selling or trading coins until you've been a forum member for 14 days and reach 50 quality posts. Sorry.

Don't worry Ozzie. If you're even a half serious collector, you'll reach 50 posts soon.

Thanks jgfindring.

Some 2 euro CC collectors collect rolls and some collect loose coins.
2e CC's come in various UNC forms from the Central banks. eg.Bags of 25 UNC coins-Portugal and Ireland; Rolls of 2e x 25 coins in other EU states.
The Vatican and San Marino coins are issued in small official folders.
The Monarco 2e CC 2007 was issued in a smalll red box.

Do you collect any other euros? I am also trying to put together a Euro type set. I have the original 12 countries, the 4 new countries, and the second and third versions for Finland. I still need the second and third versions for Belgium, all three versions for the Vatican, first and second versions for Monaco except the 1 and 2 Euro coins (though 1 cent through 50 cent don't exist yet in the second version?) and I need a San Marino ten cent from any year.

Strictly speaking it is the third version of the circulation coins for Spain. First type: 1999-2006. Second type (modified common side of the 10 ct to €2 coins): 2007-2009. Third type (modified country-specific side): 2010-

Yeah, but I'm having enough trouble filling my type set with the easy definition.

I don't collect types but I am aware of some of the different types.
eg. 2 euros have the type A and B edges. I could get UNC sets but I have to draw the line somewhere. The Central bank of Cyprus has rolls of UNC coins for 2008 and 2009 sets and the EMU 2e CC.

I do have the euro folders I and II for the first 12 countries of the euro + 4 countries. So I do collect types I suppose. I collect the intro sets only.

Ah, but that difference you don't really have to take into consideration. Not sure about Cyprus, but around here some of the pre-euro coins (DE, NL) have always had edge inscriptions, and collectors did and do not actually care about "A or B". After all, with the circulation coins the orientation is totally random, and you end up having roughly half A and half B. Now I am not saying you should ignore that, but since you want to "draw the line somewhere" anyway, that would be a great starting point.

Cyprus pre-euro coins don't have the inscriptions on the edges.

I started collecting by type ~1,5 years back. Now I have 60-70% of 2€ CC coins (mostly UNC). Still dreaming of getting Vatican or Monaco coins... But I have been more active on euroswapper page regarding these coins
