I listed a couple pieces of copper this morning, but I think I'll cool it for awhile and deal with shipping all of these out. Besides...I have a terrible time photographing copper.

Hope you get that Seated dollar. It looks better in hand even than the pictures suggest...The enlargement shows every little speck amplified.

Was that dollar ever in a slab? If you don't mind me asking what do you expect it to sell for?

Sorry.....I hadn't checked here for awhile. It was never slabbed. I got it in a Capital Plastics entombed type set of US dollars. I don't know what it will bring, but I'll be OK with whatever it does. Through convoluted dealing...breaking up and reassembling the set with lower grade coins, I ended up with about 200 dollars in it.

It lists for $940.00 slabbed at 53.....but it's raw, so knock a hundred off that value because if you aren't a member of PCGS or NGC, that's about what it ends up costing you to slab it through a dealer.

So...I would consider $800 to $850 to be retail....but I'll be surprised if it brings anywhere close to that amount. I'm pleased with where it is right now, given what I had invested in it.

I hope to be the highest bidder, any CCF Member discount. I'm trailing on the coat tails of #1.
Thanks

I hadn't figure any kind of discount into my calculations, and what I do for one listing, should be extended to all of them. While I'm doing well on this one, there are others that are going to be losers for me....so it's a break even (maybe), all things considered. I do have some material that I will offer here at good prices (after the current crop of auctions has been dealt with) rather than paying all of the ebay fees, so maybe I can extend an olive branch to my compadres here in that manner.

Man...Looks like somebody may get a steal of a deal on the 1896 Barber quarter. There are a couple album slide scratches on Liberty's cheek, but the coin has not been scrubbed.

I'll give a report later...but am happy with the way things have transpired thus far. If you've bid on my material, win or lose, I thank you.

Well........Day 1 is in the bag. Winners outpaced losers 28 to 4. The 4 listings I lost money on totaled a combined loss of 160.00. Overall, I feel like I did just fine. I am not a "saver"....and this is my way of saving money. Even after selling expenses, I did a good bit better than I could have done had the money simply been deposited in a bank.

Now...The big surprise of the day was the 1917 Walking Liberty half, which brought an astounding 200 dollars and covered all of the aforementioned losses that I incurred. The last gold I bought...was when gold was 900 an ounce, so I didn't lose anything on any of that material. I lost 4 dollars on 2 1993 prestige proof sets, 75 dollars on the 1871 Seated dollar, 74 dollars on the 1896 Barber quarter, and a couple bucks on something else that escapes my feeble mind at the time. It was insignificant though.

I am happy with today's results, and after having paid my selling expenses, I will have netted enough to pay off my house...and that's going to feel pretty good.

There are still 4 listings that end tomorrow, and I'll start a new round of auctions...and a new topic here....in a few days.

Thanks to all who have helped.

I just won the Shield w/ Rays, have been looking around for quite awhile. It should look nice in my 7070.

Nice to buy on ebay from fellow CCF member.
