Adobero in Spanish means "adobe maker". I've been building with adobe (mixture of clay, sand, and straw) off and on for about 25 years. It's a long, slow, laborious process. If you haven't developed patience when you start building with adobe, you will as time goes on!

When I was eight or so years old a newly discovering the internet I would play on nick.com and I just thought up the original coolg357 then later on it evolved into coolg35748. It's just simple and easy for me to remember.

Have you ever heard the Australian bush song about the fencer that went to the Melbourne olympics?

You might enjoy it.

My husband collected coins long before I got bit by the 'world coin' bug - so when he would, in my mind, 'rattle' on and on about mint marks and ms grades and key dates I would feel my eyes glaze over then just look down at the coin and respond 'shiny' .. that usually made him hush. Now I am very enthusiastic about the world coins and will do the same, talk on and on about them and he will tease me and call me 'Shiny Di'.

Ageka: I meant buildiings. My house, a barn, some storage buildings, a carport...etc. Someday I would like to build with straw.

@adobero
where I live is the region of claypits and they bake claystones

Lately there are ecological houses using a mixture of press straw and paper and cardboard all very good insulators
With all the rain we have I wonder how they will fare though

They should fare pretty well if the mixture is up off the ground about a foot (on a good foundation, not hovering in mid air ) and is plastered with some good waterproof stucco. A wide overhanging roof helps too.

They fare extremely well as there are still examples from the mid 19th century still standing on the plains of America. Yep, a nice overhang and good plaster on the outside will definately do the trick. They are resistant to fire and pests and are supper energy efficient.
