Why is the cow green? Is she sick or just toxic?
I also don't get the guitar pick and cow/milk association.

Realpenny,

The coin has some kind of green translucent enamel effect on the reverse.

The guitar pick... was an on-going joke when this coin was released. It looks like a guitar pick, such as this one:

The funniest thing is the RCM released in 2009 - guess what - a guitar pick!

Ugly,

In 1000 years, among the ruins post nuclear age they'll dig all those replicas and fakes... and perhaps among the relics they'll find the guitar pick.

At least they'll know for sure it is genuine.

Sorry I should have ACTUALLY counted the leafs , actually 13 for the territories, I guess. This is 1 of the Canada Day series, I think the marketing idea was to appeal to kids,as they all have youth flavor. Not sure how this worked out for them, but I know when I was a kid getting this set, say, for a birthday, would be as exciting as getting socks. Ya sure, money to a 10 year old equals candy and now he has money he can't spend.
Would this not just frustrate a kid? Coin collecting sucks........Let a kid find a large cent or a 50 cent piece and the spark ignites itself.

13 leaves? That's scary - just like the 13 original colonies of Britain. I have to agree, Ugly, that guitar pick has no place in coinage. If I ever tried to spend that I'd get arrested for uttering. That's why commemoratives, to me, are not reallllly coins, because they can't be spent with any amount of ease. You get a weird look, a few smudges, and a request for "real" money. SIGH. And this milk token kind of proves my point (does it?) that it's symbolic of the past. Nobody uses milk tokens anymore, right? There are actual milk token you CAN collect that were legitimately used for this in Canada. I remember in Mexico, my grandmother had a milk ration card - kind of the same deal like food stamps. Anyways, these new coins are ugly physically and mentally to me. Another SIGH.
