I am sure this has already been asked, but I have been a member since 2008 but with the changes in the selling policy I need a a bunch more posts now to sell.

I was going to try and sell four rolls of 90% Washington quarters but can't until I get another 80 posts or so.

I obviously haven't been a troublemaker, can't I be grandfathered in?

Unfortunately there would be no way to keep track of who's "grandfathered" and who's not. 80 posts will get here faster then you think.

The "grandfathering" issue is dead. When I reached 50, I put up 3. Within 24 hrs. they changed the policy. Those started were allowed to continue. When they were over, they were over and so was I until another 200 posts. I took it personally for a minute, knowing that it wasn't hard to track me. Didn't matter though, I saw 250 alot sooner than I thought I would.

Please tell me exactly how to do it then, since you know it wouldn't be hard.

Mmerc20, You can rack up quality posts very quickly. Just log in as many days of the week you can and participate in the threads that interest you. Post a pic or two on occasion or maybe some links to newly discovered articles about coins and such. Start a thread or asking a question about something that you need more info on. If you do all these things, you will have 250 posts or more in no time.

It is a bit annoying. I have sold some things on this forum as well, but now I can no longer do so. Alas!

All because of some silver bars.

It wasn't the only instance. This was a long time coming and it was the final straw.

The way I see it, is the people that had the privilege to sell, should still have it. They agreed to that when they signed up, and they earned it.

I agree with you but despite my opinion, Bobby has issued a new rule and everyone needs to respect that. There is just no way to enforce any kind of grandfathering for those that have sold and who got 50 before the rule change.

Keep in mind that selling on here is a privilege...not a right.

Rules are rules and sometimes they have to be changed for what ever reason. We all just have to accept things for what they are. If you are active on the forum then you will meet all requirements in a short time.

I've only got a couple hundred to go! No problem. LOL! It's like eating a elephant 1 bite at a time.

Hey mmerc - I had also qualified before the rule was changed. I posted something at auction that was won by a very young, very immature member. After 2 weeks of waiting for his money and e-mail responses, he informed me that he no longer wanted the item he had won at auction. Not sure what recourse I had, I e-mailed the moderators on what I should/could do. Unfortunately I never had the courtesy of a reply to my question. By that time the auction had been removed so I couldn't even award the item to the next highest bidder. I also couldn't re-post it since I was no longer eligible to sell items.

So what did I learn from this experience? First, there's no flexibility in the selling rule so there's no sense in fighting it. Second, 250 posts is not a good measure of the integrity of the member. Third, I will never interact with that immature member again, neither buy nor sell nor information. From what I see, he continues to burn bridges on a regular basis.

It was not removed, it was moved the the Member Auctions, Sales, Trades and Wanted to Buy (ENDED) forum.
