Picked this up from my bank yesterday. Quite surprised to get a bill almost 100 years old and to get it in Canada. Don't know much about US banknotes but the red seal is interesting.

Surprised to see that $2 red seal in Canada. Why would the bank have that at all, surprised not because it's old but because it's US currency...

I've exchanged foreign currency at my bank a few times but they don't accept older series, even if the bills are still legal tender in their home countries (ie: Switzerland, Japan etc).

Btw: a few weeks ago I was at a gas station paying for my gas. The clerk was so excited because the customer ahead of me paid with $30 in "old bills". They were small heads from 1995 or so, but she was young and that looked "old" to her. I asked if I could buy them at face value and she said "of course". It was four $5 bills and one $10 bill. They're in my desk now with my stash of small heads and when I have time I'll upload pics.
