Nice ones guys....very impressive. Quote: O-101 (R-5-) I really hope that was a typo Moe, because if it wasn't, I have some bad news for you. That isn't O-101 (R-5-)....It is O-105 (R-1)....It is the early obverse die state of O-106, which I will show below to you. You can see that in this later state of the obverse, the cracks continue where yours leave off. I have two R-3 coins and this is one of them. It has a lot of character if you like dies that have split and cracked to the point of being interesting. I think that this is why I have it. The cracks don't show very well in those pictures, so I have highlighted approximately where they are. On the reverse, the crack actually spans the die, but gets very light in the center and heavier nearer the rims.

(I'm just trying to save you the trouble of figuring them all out!) I don't really care about the rarity of any of these. I just love the coins! This is a fantastic education for me!

My apologies then Moe. I was running my mouth under an assumption about you. I feel like a total jerk. I would be happy to attribute any coin that you would like me to, even though I too am no 'expert', I have read the book. I have what some folks call a 'photographic memory'. I can remember what I have read and pictures that I have seen word for word and detail for detail, but only in two dimensional form. Three dimensional objects and the spoken word I seem to be virtually oblivious to most of the time. If you and I sat and talked for five minutes today, tomorrow I would not remember what you said, the sound of your voice, what you were wearing, or what you look like (unless you are really cute of course).

Trust me here; I know what I'm talking about.

I'm pleased to declare this thread an official Sticky, for its' duration. If you knew Bobby's feelings about stickies, you'd understand the importance of this status.

1813 At first I though this coin was O-105 R-1, but the more I look at it I believe it's O-107 R-4. What do you think? Here are some better pictures. It's difficult to see on the images but there is some clashing of the cap on the reverse and a crack from the leaves to the rim. I see no cracks on the obverse. Corrected spelling
