We had a similar thread on CU several months back, over 700 posts, every year, nearly every die variety, all grades, including the insane. These guys are astute master collectors, and I was not even in their league at all....they did accept me though, probably because they thought that I was silly. I post on a couple of other forums every now and then, where I am either the silly "lou" or the dreaded "lewy", I hang out here mainly though because CCF is my favorite, for reasons that are obvious to everyone.

I don't know halfnuts by that name, but drddm is my buddy Dr. Dave...another very nice guy, and high end collector. Nice coins, nice people, what a perfect combination.

Quote: Slick, the effect that you refer to is die wear. Makes for a rather spooky looking coin, (posted in October no less).
Thanks zeewool!

Moe I believe it's O-110 (R-2), triple segment at star 13.

Good job Moe, except that last one is O-110 (R-2)..... Centering dot between crossbars 4 and 5 on the reverse, can't see the tool mark at the top arrow feather, but then I can't see the feathers either. Lump below the 7....but most telling is the triple denticles adjacent to star 13.

And just a note to all: I'm going out of town Sunday night until Wednesday morning. I put all my 1818-1820s on a zip drive and will do my best to upload them during the proper days. (We'll see how that works!)

Is this the right day for the 1818 issues? Hopefully this "pincer 8" example (O-108) is showing up on time...
