Things change fast in this world, was silver not worth just around 4 bucks an ounce in early 2000. Supply and demand....

Copper wire without insulation is better stuff to collect.
It's pure.
It just does not look nice.

I used to collect this stuff when I was in my teens, and sell direct to a scrap metal merchant. That was when I first started buying numismatic items, and converted scrap copper into a coin collection.

In those days, I was selling copper at three shillings and ninepence per pound.
