My oldest coin by far. I've been told the following: CONSTANTIUS GALLUS -- CAESAR 351 -- 354 AD Obverse: DN CONSTANTIVS NOB C (?) Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust right Bronze coin - AE3 (16 to 21 mm) Mint: Heraclea (?) I'm sure it's a common coin as I only paid $5 for it, but it's still cool. The reverse shows a Roman Soldier killing a fallen rider in battle.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

That last one's lovely. But how about something pre-Roman? A (debased?) silver stater of the Durotriges from the centre of the south coast of England. Probably just over 2000 years old. Sorry that I can't tell you more, but it's a new subject to me. The one thing that we can be certain of is that the top illustration is the obverse as the coin is convex/concave and the obverse (fixed) die is concave so that the (presumably) hot blob of metal wouldn't fall off. Bill.

i am new to the community but I have a few that I have picked up through the years group photo the spanish milled set,all potosi coins 1-2-4-8 real, 8 real with nice chops I dug through about the top 6 inches of my 5 gal. penny jar the other night, segragating by decade and I have found several nice bright copper pennies from each of the last 6 decades, the 59 LMC looks very nice, if not as nice as the new zincon that is beside it, the photo does not do it justice

British Trade dollars legal tender in the Crown Colonies of the Straits Settlements along with the Spanish Silver Dollars, American Trade dollars, and the Mexican silver Dollars were the major coins in circulation. The British Trade dollars become very popular, because of the Chinese characters, and Jawi inscription. This coin most probably belong to someone whose chinese character was punch on to the coin or to certify that the coin is genuine and not replica.
