This just keeps getting more & more interesting. That's why my collection requires this coin. But what kinda irks me, is that I was not allowed to purchase any... twice, because I wasn't a Master Club member. But I'm a lifelong Canadian dagnabbit! No, no... I was most cordial and the mint reps I spoke with were the same.
Maybe if I keep calling, or wait two days... or keep calling

Also interesting is the coin magazine cover of this as a ten dollar piece... of which I find more, uhm, palatable. I will be looking for this mag now. What the heck, I might actually learn something.

Carl... I know your out there. Got a witty quip for the Canucks?

This whole NCLT discussion got me thinking about something.

If I walked into a bank with a stack of 50 Canadian $1 bills (no longer in circulation) or tried to spend said $1 bills at a store, would I run into problems?

I could see where a store clerk might not want to accept them because he/she may have been born after $1 bills were taken out of circulation and may never have seen one, but I would think the bank would have to exchange them for me for a nice crisp $50 bill (or 5 tens, or a ten and two twenties etc.)

The same goes for the $1000 bill............I've got one sitting in the bank vault that I might want to spend one day.

^^^^ Hawk you'll get more at a coin shop/selling to collectors for a $1000 bill than face if you just spend it.

Most people are familiar with the 1 and 2 dollars bills still, doubt you would have any trouble spending them.

I'm sure I could get more for the $1000 bill from a collector realpenny, I was just wondering how much of a hassle I'd run into trying to spend it at someplace like Best Buy

IBG this is bad luck, others got the coins w/o master statute. Don't worry I'm sure plenty of those NQLT (*) will circulate

Ok, back on track here: Is the coin expected to be shipped encapsulated/sealed at all?

Based on the pictures I saw on the Mist site, it sure looks like the coin is encapsulated and then inserted into a black carboard sleeve with a clear window.
