Quote: But here's the thing...you don't have to wait to find this Loonie in your change because you also have the option to participate in our online coin exchange where we're offering FREE shipping and no taxes! What you'll get is a 5-pack of Loonies for $5 Well, if you are legitimate and want to hear from the collectors, then hang on for what no doubt will be an exciting ride! Now that we have your ear, I (among others) want to know why the RCM uses plastics containing PVC for these 5-packs? Anyone who bought (exchanged) some of these 5-packs for the 2010 Navy and Roughrider loons had to remove them almost instantly, otherwise the loons dull very rapidly and acquire a thin green film with the coin's reaction to the PVC packaging. Why not issue the coins in pliofilm packaging (the same used for the uncirculated sets from 1961 to 2011)?

The only collectors that the RCM will benefit from participating here are that of NCLT and "new circulation stuff". Their lack of assistance in the fighting of counterfeit numismatic items the last 4 years speaks volumes. IMO

Where did you find them in circulation? Any banks or stores have them in rolls?

I am happy to announce that RoyalCanadianMint is in fact a representative of the RCM. Richard (Rggoodie) spoke with the head of security. Doesn't get more verified than that.

No offence, but it is kind of wierd to see you on the site and to see you posting at all hours of the day. How do we know you are for real and not just a well-informed prankster? We are pleased to announce that our member RoyalCanadianMint is an official representative of the Royal Canadian Mint. This members name will also have after it RCM Representative. We are pleased to welcome them and look forward to their assisting you with answers to some of your questions.

Yes, we have arrived! I'll be doing my best to get you the answers and insight you're looking for. But please keep in mind that I am just one person. Luckily I'm connected to everyone at the Mint so with time and patience, I should be able to get you the info you want. As appropriate and relevant, I will also share RCM news and updates so that you can all be in the know! I'm also connecting with Susan to share some new coin images so that all you Canadian coin enthusiasts can grab a new avatar! Any special requests?

I have a few: The 2003 Voyageur gold dollar, mintage of 1, that was auctioned off on ebay for charity. The 2005 Victory 5c proof, with the selective gold plating (issued in the 2006 RCM Report) would be kind of nice. The 2005 Maple Leaf flag 40th anniversary silver dollar Proof with Color Enamel Effect

Here in the Hamilton area I've found lots of pennies and nickels, seen a fair number of quarters also but only a few dimes so far.

Does anyone, maybe the Mint Representative, know what organization will be releasing the Park Loonies & Twoonies. Tim Horton's, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Royal Bank or someone else? Thanks

The new 2011 circulation coins will only be found in your change or via online coin exchanges at http://www.mint.ca/legendary (i.e. $5 gets you 5 Loonies --- no shipping fees + no taxes make it an even exchange)
