I would send both of yours into ANACS or PCGS for certification, as it would make them a lot easier to sell or show off. I got this one about a week ago, and I'm about to send it to ANACS. I have always looked for them for many, many years in many different places. But I was never very good at the diagnostics, picked up a lot of no date 1917s along the way. Thanks for the education on them, I'm much better at picking them out now. I thought only ANACS would authenticate/grade them with no date, I didn't think PCGS would do that. I actually have a few different coins I need to get together and send in all at once. Report this Post to the Staff
johnny54321 Rest in Peace United States 4849 Posts	Posted 04/08/2011 8:36 pm Nice! Yes, PCGS will authenticate and grade dateless examples, I've seen ones more worn than yours in their slabs. NGC is the only one that won't(don't know why). I like ANACS because I know I will at least get a details grade instead of just a genuine holder, and also cheaper faster and easier....though PCGS examples usually bring a bit more. I've mostly been happy with ANACS, at least for ones that are totally dateless. Both of yours look FR2-ish to me for details! If you send them in, keep us posted on the results!
