I bought this in 1974 for $48. They claimed it's a full head--what do you think?

Quote: They claimed it's a full head--what do you think? Man!! What a beautiful coin!! I would like to see closer detail of the head to agree to "full head" though. (Normally you need more hair detail than I see in the current picture...) so close-ups!

jpsned - Beautiful coin! I love the luster and extremely strong details, though I don't think it'd make full head (Moe is right about the hair detail). However from a looks of the coin perspective, it does have enough detail in the head to really allow you to appreciate the coin's beautiful design.

Quote: They claimed it's a full head--what do you think? For Type 2 SLQ's I understand the the full head criteria are 1) three sprigs/leaves visible, 2) hair edge complete from forehead across face to neck, and 3) earhole visible. From your photo it doesn't look like this 1924 quite makes it. Larger head images should tell the tale.

Pics of my 1924 didn't come out well. It wasn't real impressive anyway. I really need to work on my photography skills. but here is a pic of a 1919-d that was hiding in a stack of SLQs that I just went through, hope nobody minds that it a little out of the order of this thread

I would like to send a bigger image of my '24 so you can see more detail in the head.
I noticed that everyone else's photos come out a lot bigger than mine. How do I make my photos bigger? Thanks.

Here's a close-up of the head. I still would like to know how to make my overall photos bigger.

Believe the SLQ are the most pleasing series to view. They have a little bit of everything in the design - lady, shield, eagle, stars, and architecture.

jpsned - The FH designation is very particular. Below are two PCGS-slabbed standing liberties. The first did NOT get FH, but the second did (note that these are type 1, not type 2, so the head will look slightly different)... And to answer your photo size question - save to as close to 90 kb as possible. If you save as a lower quality JPG, you can have a greater image size while still staying with in that limit (but the color range will usually drop).
