I reckon that Mr. ErdÅ's is leading us off topic.
True. Sorry for that.

Which will come first, confirmation of your 1502 or someone wanting to present a 1501.

Since it is buried a few pages back, let me summarize...

Pheroow posted this stock image...

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Ended-At-1492-Waiting-On-1491

Then posted his actual coin, which has the date area and other parts blurred...

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Ended-At-1492-Waiting-On-1491

Then DBM posted what he thinks it is (another 1502)...

How-Far-Back-Can-We-Go?-Ended-At-1492-Waiting-On-1491

Perhaps if Pheroow would post a pic of the obverse?

The side on which I posted must have the date on it.

Man, my coin sure does suck :(
Someone post a 1502, this might never be accepted.

Your coin appears to have the reverse legend "MONETA ANNO DOMINI",same as the one in the pic I linked to.
IMO it's quite likely a 1502.
When you return from Morocco can you please post a pic of the obverse.Hope you found some nice early dated coins there to share with us.

I disagree, I think it is a strong candidate based on DBM's analysis. But I am not familiar enough with them to make the call. As requested, can you post a photo of the other side?
