Based on the facts presented, I say it counts as a legetimate 1502.

Let's get this thread moving with a 1501!!

I found a 1501 at an online dealer, but I am not interested in spending the $561.67

I hadn't originally planned to go, but there is a coin show about 30 minutes away Sunday. I stop for a visit.

Just back from the local coin show: no luck with a 1501.
I only saw one dealer with non-US coins, and the oldest he had was in the 1700s. I picked up a few interesting coins or coins I wanted, but those will find other threads when I get done sleeping.

Maybe someone can find a 1501 in Chicago
or jbuck may have to make an executive decision.

For this, there is no executive decision to make. Unless we get a 1501, we are stuck.

Would it count if someone posted a 1500 somewhere else on the forum?

I dont think so CK. However, if that member is still around and owns the coin, a PM might persuade them to post it here. We need a 1501.
Moe, thanks for that link, very informative. It will definetly help with the search.

No, because we need a 1501.

Sorry. I am sure you just made a typo.

However, if there were a 1501 posted somewhere else on the forum, feel free to encourage the member to post it here as GoldenChest suggested. If they do not, I will post the image for them; with credit given, of course.

WHAT! A 1500 isn't good enough? What if it was a 1500 and 1 large cent?

KK - will look for a 1501 on the site when I have time.

It will most certainly be good enough... after the 1501 is posted.

So, are you saying you know where a 1500 is posted? If so...
