I will admit thinking of buying one but put my money in DCarr's silver Denver Mint commemorative coin. For design and beauty the San Fran coin cant even hold a candle to this coin.
So time will tell, and I hope no one looses to much on this issue.

Hello OldDan,
What DCarr silver Denver Mint Commemorative coin are you referring to in your post? The signed quarter slabs from ICG or something else. I would be interested in seeing the coin you are talking about if you can point the way for me. Thanks OldDan,
Berry

Okay,

I did not purchase silver since it in the legacy set. But I did purchase a gold proof, but now I am considering canceling my order, but I am going to wait until the eagle mania goes down and see if news about the release start picking up...hopefully starting next month

I looked at buying some of these coins, but decided to hold off. Even though they have lower mintages, I, too, wonder about their popularity.

If you like the coin, then buy it. If it's for investment purposes, be very careful. You may be holding onto these coins for a long time before getting your money out, if ever.

And if you want to buy coins for investment, then there are many other coins that will give you a better return.

Here's the link to Daniel Carr's web site: http://www.dc-coin.com/

It is a very nice Commemorative. I purchased my Silver Proof Denver Mint from Daniel in August at the ANA in Denver.

As for the San Francisco....it's on my list of "wants" and "will get's" no matter what the mintage, it's a great Commens for a Commens collector.

Thanks dsking, I looked the site up and found many nice items on it. His company is currently in Loveland, Co. Nice coins, but seem a little pricey to me, however will purchase some of the proofs. Thanks for the info dsking, appreciate it much.

You're very welcome Berry4402. Daniel is a very talented designer IMHO. I also picked up his signature Proof New York Quarter along with the Mint Commens. The photos just don't do the Commens justice as it is finely detailed and quite beautiful. Daniel and his wife are very nice people and I enjoyed purchasing and chatting with them. Oh and he's also a member of our forum family and will occasionally post something interesting here.

Enjoy!

I was looking for it few days back but couldn't find it on the mint website. I've ordered one.
