Picking a selling price isn't easy. Not because of greed, but because of the market that created the price.
If silver went to $100 in a couple months, it would normally be time to sell to the bare walls. However, if the price of other things (gas, housing, food, etc) also doubled in that time, then silver is really just treading water, and you might as well hold it as something else, and certainly you're better off with ag than cash.

I've invested for a long time now and have always had an easier time picking a decent buying point than a decent selling point. A few times, I will buy a stock and only plan to hold it for a few months. My goal there is to try for a 25-40% gain before selling. Unless I have a sell point in mind, though, I tend to "let 'em ride" longer than I should. Just need to remind myself that when a sell point is per-determined and reached, it needs to be acted on and not reconsidered every day.

Ask for booze or salads with gold in them. GNC and similar sell colloidal silver--silver you eat.

Remember tht there are different SHTF scenarios. Having some protection against any of them is better than crossing your fingers.
Hyperinflation tends to be relatively short-lived. People get real tired real fast about hourly price changes and bartering. Offer something that might work, and you'll get support. This is how Hitler came to power, incidentially.

There are some deep psychological effects when it gets to 60-75. If it were to shoot to 99 we would see a huge correction. $55 is where I think it should be but what do I know. I'd like to get it cheaper but I'm still buying at $45. I'm starting to think that proofs may be the way to go in terms of "collecting" and not so much "hoarding".
Sorry, did "packs of cigarettes" exist when the founding fathers were around? I thought that machine-rolled cigarettes were only invented and mass-produced at around the late 19th century.

My sell point is when I need the money really...
But I told myself that if silver every hit 75$, I would sell about half of my stash

I've already sold what I wanted to sell. I bought like crazy for about a year until it hit $17. Then when it hit $34, I sold enough to pay off my initial investment. Now I'm just sitting on the rest with no real plan.

With the local and world economies worsening and fiat currency loosing value daily, I think I'll be holding my silver for a long time. Maybe when there is a new world currency instead of the U.S. dollar or the Euro it will be time to re-evaluate my position on PM. I don't have a set sell price, I have a set goal for stable world economies and currencies.

I was reading a magazine today where July 21, 2011 was the pivot date. Basically, the yurro was designed to put the weaker countries in a bind where Germany had to bail them out. Greece has either had to sell or release control of everything of value as collateral for the bailout. The next domino is Cyprus, and then Germany has a straight shot at Jerusalem and Israel. All they need is a "strongman" as German leader, like Hitler was. I'll cover this in another thread. Skeered me, and I ain't skeered of nuttin.

So, are you saying that the Euro is a ploy that is being used to create German European domination? What does Israel have to do with it?

Who lives in Israel, and just happen to be mortal enemies of the German power structure?

50 dollars an ounce and I shall sell any extra silver coins I have. (Washington, Rosies, Silver Bullion Coins, etc.) This is because I like to complete sets, and am only interested in Silver as an investment. Gotta pay for my college tuition somehow...
