Nice correction and APMEX pricing is also reflecting that on their silver.

with a dramatic drop like this, I wouldn't be surprised if your local dealer has no silver for sale because they don't want to lose money OR if they up the premium!

I think this was clear manipulation on low volume, and no news. And the prices are starting to come back up a bit. Get in while you can cause everybody else is going to jump at this opportunity as soon as they get the news.

Almost collectible, where do you find volume figures? Do they give you comparisons to a mean or anything?

Let's not forget that Friday, the London metal exchange was closed because of the Royal Wedding so some adjustment may be related to that. It will be interesting to see what happens when London opens(about midnight eastern time?).

See I must have been right, cause prices are starting to come back, down only 6.3% now, as opposed to 10+% earlier.

Right after the earthquake silver dropped from a few dollars to $34. Turned out to be an excellent buying opportunity. Immediately after we had the run-up to $50. There's still not anywhere else to park your spare dollars, unless you're bullish on the market. The insider page on Finviz shows way more company officers are selling their stock than buying. They're not even betting on their own companies.

Just bought off of APMEX. Not a big volume, but big by my standards!

I think London opens at 03:00 eastern time. There's only 5 hours time difference from New York to London.

Gang, the whole British Empire was watching a wedding Friday and silver is taking a breather. Half the world was looking for a bargain while the British markets were closed. Light volume is not panic selling. The dollar is still weak, QE2 continues and inflation is in everyone's mind; lets see what Monday brings. Everyone was talking about a correction anyway.

Silver was $8.54 an ounce in October, 2008. Every single problem the United States faces today existed, in spades, at that point in time. Is it really prudent to be buying 10 OZ bars @ $45 or is this a price manipulated bubble?

I would love to see it come back down under $40 (or lower!). I would love to buy some more Franklins. I don't care about silver value, I just want the coins for my collection. I have lots of silver coins and although it is nice to have something that is rising in value, my coin collection is not an investment for me, it is a hobby. I don't mind paying premiums on some more rare coins or hard to find coins, but I hate having melt as a minimum price point just because the coin is silver (especially on lower grade or common coins). Although I am in the minority I am sure...as far collecting goes, I say let the price of silver drop.
