This post is to highlight some interesting varieties of Muhammad shah-II half falus.
They can be broadly classified into two varieties.
I. Muhammad written on the first line.
II. Muhammad on the second line.
Type-I can be sub-classified into two
I-a. with noon of sultan to the left of "ta"-Coin id Guj.S#022, G44 of G&G (Goron and Goenka)
I-b. with noon cutting "ta" of sultan-Coin id Guj.S#018, G46 G&G
Type-II can be sub-classified into three
II-a. with noon of sultan to the left of "ta"-Coin id Guj.S#020, G47 G&G
II-b. with noon of sultan cutting "lam" of sultan-coin id Guj.S#024. G&G does not mention this variety.
II-c. with elongated Muhammad.Here noon is to the left of "ta". Coin id Guj.S#019, G43 G&G. This is rated rare. Variety with "noon" cutting parts of sultan may be there. I have not so far seen any such half falus.
Another interesting observation is that the "sa" of sultan is fully written with four vertical strokes in Type I variety. It is written partially with one vertical stroke in Type II, but on that unpublished variety coin, no.Guj.S#024, it is completely written. Here also it is possible that coins with Mahmud in second line and "neem" cutting "lam" of sultan may exist with short "sa". If anyone has such variants, welcome to post them here.
