On my clocks that have Roman numerals the symbol for 4 is IIII not IV so both may be used.

I know, I've seen it indicated that way in a few times in the past, and based on my understanding of RN's (I think I learned them in, like, seventh grade) I always thought it was kinda funky. I musta been in a funky mood that day!

As I have been queried on the stipulations governing the final giveaway of this series, let me now state that

THERE ARE NONE

Being the final giveaway of this series, it is open to all.

There are no restrictions of any kind.

I recall that you're supposed to use the least number of characters possible, so IV would be correct

I love these contests -- it's the perfect excuse to just sit and relax and not make dinner.

The Sprit Of Giving, Part IV is.....

.....in IV parts!

Being as such, and being the final giveaway four the Labor Day weekend, there will be three items given away,

The first complete and correct answer will receive a BU 1887 Morgan dollar.

The second complete and correct answer will receive a BU 1922 Peace dollar.

The third complete and correct answer will receive a 2005 Proof Set.

Ah heck, it's Part IV in IV Parts so let's go over the top and do IV items!

The fourth complete and correct answer will receive a 1968 Proof Set.

At 6:45 pm Fourum Time I will announce the members giving the first four complete and correct answers. I trust it shall take no longer than this as I'm confident many of you know most of this by heart.

And now, let us begin.

You are now entering......

THE AMERICAN HISTORY ZONE

(cue appropriate AHZ background music)

Welcome my friends and fellow CCF Members. Below are the four parts of part four. There is a four hour time limit to the four parts of part four. Therefour there will be no bathroom breaks, coffee breaks, or dinner breaks. Or breakdancing.

In order to receive one of the afourmentioned items that were mentioned above, but not mentioned four times, you must tell me the following, completely and correctly:

1) What were the original 13 colonies, in alphabetical order? (Arizona, California, New Mexico, etc.)

2) What are the first 13 words of the Declaration of Independence?

3) What are the first 13 words of the Constitution?

4) What is the 13th Amendment to the Constitution? (just the short version, like Freedom of the Press,

Right to Bear Arms, Prohibit Unreasonable Search and Seizure, etc.)

Good luck, and you may begin

NOW!
