If it's not displaced metal from a hit. It could be a very small die chip.

Acetone will not react with the metal.
Do NOT rub the coin with anything even a cotton swab
will leave hair lines.

Damaged someone put it on a lathe and removed the back.
You can see the grooves.

Try holding it at a 45 degree angle looking from the bottom.
This helped me a few times.

It will remove glue, paint and other
Things. There may be color differences
Due to toning.
