And all the others who mailed me something. I thank you all very much for that. I do not mind if I receive them or not. It is the thought that matters. I consider they are received and I got much more than I deserved. Recently, we are going through some very dark times here. Much to be said about the earthquake but here is not the place for doing that. I hope you all had some lovely Christmasses and wish all of you a happy, healthy 2023. Best wishes from halfway around the world. |

And finally a nice book with two pretty bills inside! Thank you a bunch @Half for those and for paying a $60 fortune for mailing those to me! I knew about star notes of the US, but never had one before! The older dollar note is in great condition. A nice addition to my world items folder.

These are very generous gifts from @Jimjumper. First 2022 US coins I ever see om hand! I like half dollars in US currency. The banknotes are from Turkey, one is a late 1950s 2 1/2 Lira, and the other is a wartime Ottoman quarter lira. Beautiful coins and currency.
The 1970s stamped coin sets, I never seen any of those before. Acmonital 1970s Turkish coins are relatively hard to come by as they had seen a lot of circulation back then.

Dear @Half and @Jimjumper, your packages are picked up from the post office.I thank you very much. If Santa can keep the thread open for some more time I'll post pictures when I am back. I already have one another from @Carrigna and really guys, I didn't deserve that much. Santa really made both happy and embarrassed towards the community this year. |

Dear everyone,
Thank you very much for all those who sent me something. I also thank you for your concern and condolences regarding the recent earthquake in my country. It is a very dark time for Turkey now. God bless you guys.
I'll just put a quick update asking if people can PM me the tracking numbers of packages that are held at the post office in Turkey. I will ask someone to go and pick those up for me as after a while they will be sent back to the senders.
I will thank everyone later in a more proper way, once I am back home, regardless of I receive their gifts of not. |

Dear guys, a package sent by Carrigna just arrived to my hometown and will be delivered today or on Monday. I'll be back to my home next week and will post pictures once I am back.
Thank you Carrigna and all others whose gifts has arrived or not for sending to me. Its rather embarassing to say it's the third package I got this year. |

Dear folks,
All the way from Kansas, USA, I received a very generous gift this year. This is the second gift I got so I already feel very lucky. There is a set of 36 cards about US coin varieties and a gorgeous 1847 US 1 cent. It's a beautiful coin, never had one before.
So a big thank you for the sender from me. If he could send me a PM, I"d like to thank to him personally too.

@rggoodie I don't mind celebrating Christmas myself. A quarter of where I cureently live celebrates it. We even have a large Christmas tree in the biggest airport in Turkey. Local people however, do not celebrate it as many of the forum members probably do in English speaking countries. They instead celebrate the new year with similar Christmas celebrations alike much of the "western" (as we call here) world. Myself I lived abroad half of my life and enjoy the atmosphere a lot.&
Happy Christmas everyone.& #127876; |

Dear everyone,
Now you are making me feel embarrassed. To my defense, I openly told Richard to assign me just one person as usual, because I kind of felt like, in one of his emails, he is about to arrange something this year. None of you guys aside from my original assigned person should have done that!
I participated in several Secret Santas in my membership in the forum. I never had a problem with any of them until 2016 or 17, the date when the Turkish Post got total privatization. Since then, unregistered mail from abroad seems to get "lost" occasionally. Makes me feel sad remembering the late 1990s when I was working in a far-off, rural area in Turkey and how the post office had spent every effort finding me and delivering an ordinary letter to me. Those were the days when people had more respect for their jobs.
I remember a few Santas before I received something. Might be 2020. It was a weird year as some of you may remember. So I don't think I am missing many Christmases as Richard thinks. :)
I grew up in a culture that cherishes giving and celebrating. No matter if it is the new year, Eid, the national day of wherever we are living in, the olive festival of my hometown, Christmas, or any day we're alive. Even though I live far away from almost every forum member and haven't been actively trading with people since the mail here got rather unreliable, modern Turkish coins do not have much variety, thus being uninteresting for collectors, and sending mail became too expensive, I still try to enroll in every Secret Santa possible since my registration to the forum in 2008.
The bottom line of this rather long forum post is that I am happy with the exchange whether I get something or not. I am happy with giving for the traditional CCF activity every year. I don't mind what or when I receive it, as I sometimes send boxes of sweets when I don't have interesting numismatics for the person I am assigned to.
Every year, Richard puts much effort and energy into the secret Santa exchange for the forum members and if there is someone who deserves to receive more than one gift here on the thread, it most definitely is Richard.
jfindring, (Jeff) and MINT_MARQ, thank you, guys. I hope there isn't anyone else sent me anything as I do not want to be in debt to anyone else :)
Attached is my gift for this year. Lovely Indian Head Cents. I had to crop the picture to upload it here, they look much better on hand. A lot of history there.
And if you read my post up to this last line, thank you for your time reading it. English is not my native tongue, it's just a loosely learned one for me so please forgive my mistakes when I use it.
(edit : grammar. yes this is the best I could do, haha)
