Based on the OP's picture, I'm 100% sure the coin is a fake.
But you're right, to be absolutely sure, have ICCS take a look at it.

The coin is a fake. Not because it looks odd or grainy, but because it has the markers of a fake.Nickelsguy is the foremost authority on Chinese counterfeit Canadian coins, when he declares it fake,it's over,no other opinion is required. No point wasting money sending it to ICCS.

Always get a proper opinion on any RARE coin. That is the primary reason that the TPG s are there. While I agree that this coin is a FAKE 1875H ( Blatantly obvious) it never hurts to get a questionable coined checked as the cost is minimal and if one is a dealer it is a small business expense. I recently purchased a large US Morgan Silver dollar collection from a client who bought all the coins pre 1970 when there were no certification services. I was dead certain the 1894 Philly was NOT right and was pleasantly surprised when it came back from NGC as VG10 genuine. Take care and keep hunting for rarities!

my avatar, a 1875 10 Cent, happens to be authentic. no grain no funny gray look... just simply a nice coin. IT will go to a TPG and will then be offered later. Question is: which TPG (in Canada)?

Old Dimes, I'd be interested in seeing what grade it actually obtains. Hope you'll keep us posted.
