Congrats! A difficult project for sure.
Now you need to complete the proofs from 1936 up.

GR58, I do appreciate the final two coins you sent me to wrap it up. All of the 2009 pennies are from a mint set. From 90 up that is the case. Thats why the 2013 slots are still open. Waiting for the mint and proof sets to come out. I get two. One to store and one to cut up for albums. Quote: Now you need to complete the proofs from 1936 up. I will get right to that! LOL

Quote: 1979-S Variety 1 is the "blob" or filled S.
1979-S Variety 2 is the "clearer" S.
1981-S Variety 1 is the same S as the 1979-S Variety 2.
1981-S Variety 2 is the true "clear" S. Thanks for the clarification, jbuck! That had me confused! Any idea why Dansco would include the two types from '79 and not the two types from '81? Is the '79 type difference considered more "significant"?

Quote: Any idea why Dansco would include the two types from '79 and not the two types from '81? Is the '79 type difference considered more "significant" I am not sure. A similar question is why the Red Book lists the 1979 varieties for all denominations, but only shows the SBA dollar with the two 1981 varieties. The answer is either the same, or Dansco used the Red Book to guide their decisions.

What a great collection! I'm just about to embark on a 1909-Date set (no proofs) with my daughter and maybe we'll get halfway there someday...

Nice going. Great accomplishment. Quote: What about the 8 copper cents from 2009 that came in the mint sets? Looks like no room for those in a Dansco. I had to make my own page for all 20 of the 2009's. I still like a Whitman better for appearance. Copper coins stand out better in a Blue background. Also, no 72 or 95 Doubled Die as there is in my Whitman.

Looks fantastic! I've got one of these myself and hope to pass it down as a treasured family heirloom to my son one day. Ever actually read the information on the inside front cover? I remember being very surprised to see the following toward the bottom: Quote:
The 1943-47 cent weighs 2.70 grams and the composition is zinc-coated steel. The original alloy resumed in 1947.
I'd sure love to find some of those steel cents from 1944-47...

I have never understood why they don't have the 81 varieties either. Makes no sense.

Very nice set and a very proud accomplishment. We have a set also just check on previous listings. Your set looks nice and appears that you have tried to match grades up. I will say that 1925 would look nicer in my set. Lol just playing. Congratulations.

wallendusty, I decided that from 1930-1940 would be AU (I had made an exception for the 31S, but managed to get that one in the right grade but cleaned. It looks very nice regardless, so it works) or better, and anything past 1940 would be BU. Prio to 1930 just the best grade I could afford at the time. Those will get upgraded to at least that 25 as time goes by....at least the non key dates.
