I live in southeast Alabama, travel to Gatlinburg Tenn and to Panama City Fl many times a year.
I get at least one every two weeks in my area.
I never see the Alabama quarter.

That is an interesting observation.

I find them all the time not as much but I do find them. Now finding nice examples are rare but you even find those. It is truly a lucky day when I do though it is rare.

I am in Florida and I do still see an occasional one in change.
I took all mine to a coin star machine a year or so ago and cashed them in.

I collect them while roll hunting just to have something to do. Can usually find 10 or 20 in a box. Use it as a method for saving. Turn them in later. :)

I remember looking at them and noticing that many had weak details in the drum, either they were weak strikes or worn dies. If I get one and it is MS and has a really good full strike, I might put it aside.
There is no reason to hoard these, they made enough of them but like most any coin, the very best examples might be worth keeping.

I found 20 this year. Ranging from very fine to very rough.
Denver mint marks are more just blobs and Philly has no mark.
But I save them all and smile when given 1 in change.

I agree and I save them as well. They are the first coin I remember paying specific attention to as a kid. It would take a couple decades more for that to turn into being a collector.

I've always loved them, as I suppose is obvious.

I see about 6 or so a year in change and keep them all.

Not too many lately but some time ago it appeared they were all over the place. Used to see way to many of those.

I think you once said a dealer was buying them at 24 cents a piece.

And a very pretty icon it is too!

What can I say? I've loved this reverse since 1975.
