I can get 25 cents for it or I could go on Esty and ask $5000 and claim it as a tax write-off. Lol

All the 1955-D's on Coppercoins are doubled eye lids.

I don't see anything out of the norm with this coin . I'll value it at about 25¢ . Can I ask why you paid $5 for it ?

I hope it's worth $5 that's what I paid

Yeah, way over priced - next time send a picture and ask "HOW MUCH" - before you buy.

I thought the TRUST looked thicker, but checking on coinfacts, it is normal sized:

So it looks like a normal coin.

Chip, I've bought overpriced coins for $5-$10 because I had the money and I REALLY wanted to fill that hole in my collection, but that $5 also got you some good information here! As for the $40 coin, maybe slow down and do a little research. Can you share some pictures here before committing to it? These guys can definitely add some insight.

Chipper , All we're saying is we hate to see people throwing away precious money especially in these times of turmoil . You really need to educate yourself on the hobby if you want to continue collecting . We are not here to give you wrong information only trying to help . Even when one of us wants a certain coin we at least try to get it at a good price . A 25¢ coin for $5 is not what we thrive for . Had you been educated in wheat cents you would have told your friend to take a long walk off a short pier !

I'd say you've had far more than $4.50 worth of learning experience here.

This coin does appear to have a doubled die, as spence said, the y in liberty is evidence of it.

Looks normal to me. The Y on the 1955's were just uneven.
