@JimmyD @Coinfrog Thanks. I had that feeling but wanted to make sure. IO/T I'm familiar with the best sites for coins but would like to know what where I could find good info on currency so I don't bother you guys with stuff like this.

Folks are here to help. You should always feel like you can ask your questions at CCF.

MakesNoCentsToMe,
Did you use the search box here on CCF? We get that question a few times every year.

I don't even know the proper term but wonder about this 2017 One Dollar Bill

I would label it as poorly centered.but still within BEP tolerances. If you saw the blinding speed in which these notes are printed and then guillotined into packs of 100, you'd appreciate the nicely centered notes even more.

Yep
Someone might want this as a starter. Try it on ebay.
Just a thought.

@John1 No I didn't search it. I'll start there next time. Thanks.
@SteveInTampa Thanks. I've got it in a holder and labeled as you said.
@bugil46 If it was somewhat crisp I might give it a shot but this thing looks like it was crumbled up pretty bad by its former owner. Maybe they had just lost a bet or got served their divorce papers lol.

Yep
I agree on condition. Pretty crumpled.
I enjoy giving things a try on ebay.

Hope that's not offensive to the pros.
It's all fun for me. I really appreciate the
opportunity to learn from others.

In this case, I think the argument against "giving it a try" on ebay is that the seller would be hoping a buyer (due to ignorance) pays extra for something we all know has no extra value. ebay is full of fake "error" listings preying on folks new to the hobby. I mean, if you sold it under the listing as "regular old wrinkled $1 bill I found" then I guess fair is fair, but selling it as off-center, irregular, or special in any way to me would be disingenuous.

Listing this on ebay would be a total waste of time imo.

Yep
Well, Guess that was a bust.
I was just insulted to my core.
Not everyone is trying to cheat
someone. I would have "Give It a Try"
giving all the relevant Information.
I personally saw it as off center.
Of course being new at this may put my opinions
off center.
Off Center usually means value in Numismatics.
I am indebted for your guidance.
But I feel attacked.
I did learn from this experience.
"I have a lot to learn."
Thanks Community

I didn't intend to attack anyone. I wanted to explain why I didn't think this particular bill should be put up on ebay.
Hopefully, we can discuss and disagree in a civil manner without anyone feeling bad.

For some clarity of a cutting error, this note barely qualifies. If you look closely you'll see a a sliver of note in the lower margin. The OP's note is simply poorly centered. I wouldn't consider it a "starter" or and error or even desirable.

Yep
Thanks SteveinTampa.
Makes sense to me.
This will help people not to
"prey on the ignorance of a buyer."
