I have a completed set of CAPS U.S. 1800's Type Set & 1900's & 2000 Type Set. All coins are in CAPS capsules and stored in CAPS Albums and sleeves. I am asking if this venue is the best place to sell this collection? I have a spreadsheet and photos of all the coins.

Reading the selling rules, I see "No counterfeits, No exceptions". I gather that includes the infamous Henning nickels.

I believe we have made exceptions for those in the past since they are such an interesting part of coin-collecting history and very collectible..

If USPS shipping costs is the same for all states (to and from), why is transaction exclusion of Alaska and Hawaii residents allowed?

Some members also do free shipping to only the "lower 48"?

I am just reminiscing about some of the purchases and sales I have made on this forum in the past.

I bought 100 ASEs in 2019 for $1,900
I bought $10 face value of 1/2 dollars in 2020 for $135
I bought 9 oz (3 Krugerrands, 6 Philharmonics) in 2021 for $238.50
I bought 1 10oz and 2 5oz bars in 2023 for $525
I bought 10 Geiger Edelmetalle squares in 2024 for $300
I bought 97 Silver Quarters in 2025 for $800
I bought 5 ASEs in 2026 for $375

I sold $20 FV 90% silver coins in 2024 for $450
I sold a 10 ounce UK coin in 2025 for $600

I'm pretty sure (at least it's always been) that shipping prices via USPS has been based on distance (unless shipping flat rate). It has always been a lot more expensive shipping to Alaska and Hawaii for me here in NC.

USPS rates are not a good reason for not shipping to AK and HI. They are potentially slightly higher than other states, but not prohibitively so. Other shipping services charge much more for those states.

The point being that it was inaccurately stated that USPS shipping is the same price to wherever in the United States...That simply is not true unless you ship flat rate. When it comes to a couple of coins, yes the price difference is negligible.

If the price difference is negligible for USPS, why not provide an option ("you may be charge a little more", etc.) instead of doing an outright exclusion of those two states.

Ran some calculations on the USPS website for Bangor (Maine), Chicago and San Diego.

Shipping an envelope (regular first class) weighing 6 oz from a zip code in Bangor, Maine to a zip code in Hawaii is $3.00, the same vice-versa.

12 oz from Bangor, Maine to Hawaii is $4.74 and same vice-versa.

13 oz from Bangor, Maine to Hawaii is $5.04 and same vice-versa.

If you exceed 13 oz you fall into flat rate $11.95 (small flat envelope or box).

Replace the Hawaii zip code in the examples above with a zip code from Chicago or San Diego and the cost is the same (Bangor to Chicago, Bangor to San Diego, etc)

Going intra-state (within California) between Los Angeles and San Diego, the resulting costs is the same.

This is all that qualified CCF members feel like selling at the moment. Sometimes there a lot of listings, at other times not so many.
