WINNER WINNER WINNER Apologies to all concerned, we have a winner. In fact we have had a winner since day one!I know it was shameful of me to keep it running, but I was having a lot of fun. I hope some of you were getting into the spirit of it too. If not, I will gladly refund your entrance fee. So the canny collector who obviously has access to my secret data is igwt79who correctly chose 17/11/1955 with his first AND second picks ! I even tried to throw him (or her) off the scent, but like a dog to a bone, the choice remained. A big round of applause please, well played. I must say that I was blown away to have it picked correctly, even before the ink of the competition had dried. @igwt79, please pm me your posting details and I will get the prizes sent off to you. To the others who were close... missed it by this much... commiserations. See you all again at 2000 posts ttkoo

Hey It's me!!! And I was saving my last guess for the 6th of January for the big hint! Thanks for the fun contest and awesome prizes ttkoo! Sorry if I ruined the fun for anyone. I actually enjoyed the hunt. I also began to question my first educated guess. Quote: So the canny collector who obviously has access to my secret data Just some lucky sleuthing. PM Sent. I don't have any Australian coins, so I am very excited! Thanks again. j

Good job ttkoo, reel in another Aussie coin collector.
igwt79, were you surprised how small the $2 is? Most people oversea seem to be.

triggersmob, yes! It's barely larger than a U.S. Cent.

It means we can carry quite a few dollars in our pocket and it's not too big and heavy.

@igwt79 - really happy that you like the coins I sent, enjoy and grow them into a collection! Thanks to all who took part, hope to see you all back here for my 2000th! I hope you all enjoyed it, I know that I did! If there is a mod reading this, the competition could get stowed in the finished comps section.....next time I'll put the end date in the topic!
