Walking liberty price just got posted at $2775 a little better than I thought but they aren't going to sell out at that price.

I don't think the USM is helping themselves by cutting the mintage for BOM4. If people wanting the set of 5 don't get it will they still buy BOM5? I also think many are standing by for BOM4 and BOM5 as keys, that if they get them may go back and pick up the others, which are gathering dust on the mint's shelves. Lastly the cut in mintage for BOM4 and BOM5 is bound to draw speculation/dreaded bots, which will jam things up, leave those with BOM1,2, and 3 out of luck and add to disgust with the USM and their decisions.

Don't put that out in the world! There would be some really really unhappy people!

Anybody else planning on [trying to] getting one of these today? The price of gold has gone up something like $500 since this thread was started and the current price for the set looks to be an eye-watering $5,740.

I definitely want to complete the set and am hoping to get one. With a mintage of only 15,000, I'm a bit nervous, but hopefully the high cost will keep the hordes at bay...

I'll try to get one (26BM4) in a few minutes. Honestly, even at reduced 15,000 mintage, I don't think it will sell out. Last week's Walking Liberty sold only 9,719 out of 30,000, so REAL demand for this Draped Bust must be the same, not any higher.

I'm buying primarily to flip in the remote event that demand increases, since it's the only coin in the series that wasn't a remake of the 2016 collection. If it flops, I'll return it within the 7-day window and hopefully buy it in a few years at a much lower premium.

At $5,740, I could instead buy an attractive, established coin today (such as 2009 Ultra High Relief Saint-Gaudens for about $5,500 with a lower premium over spot), then I could wait few years to buy the 26BM4 at a reduced premium. On the other hand the Saint-Gaudens (26BM5) I'm betting will be a full sold-out.

I'll update you later today or next tuesday (Sep 1) when sales report comes out.

I got the BOM Dime because of the price with the silver medal at like $850 was fair. I passed on the others as I am not a fan of the Standing quarter and I already have a 2016 gold half dollar I got a few years ago for MELT ($1K, as it had a spot on it and it sat for too long in my LCS). I have a 2009 Ultra High Relief. I like the draped bust dollar design and wanted to get it as that was the best way to get the design. I know I could have bought a really low grade slabbed for 1-2k but just didnt want to be missing details.
So I got this one as well!

I totally forgot about this, I love my job...

an hour after they went on sale I popped in just to look, no waiting room and able to add to bag. But it says on backorder.

Apparently not as popular as I had thought. Maybe the price pushed buyers away.

Well, I had no trouble ordering it and I have printed out my receipt with the order number on it, but I haven't actually received any email confirmation yet. I'm guessing that, unlike the half dollar set, the sets are not actually ready to go and I just wasted $25 on "overnight" shipping that may take weeks.
