It looks genuine, the New Haven restrikes are quite different so it's definitely not one of them. I don't think it would be worth having it authenticated in that condition though.

It might be worth borrowing a metal detector and asking permission to search the area around where you found the coins - if there were three, there could be more!

There is a lot of detail left—it might be a good candidate for conservation at NCS, followed by authentication and grading at NGC.

If it were mine I would have it graded and professionally restored. .

I'll be the odd one out, I usually am! NGC does not restore coins, they conserve them. Here is the page of what they do and do not do, https://www.ngccoin.com/ngc-conservation/ . In the what they don't do anything with is corrosion.
