Quote: lafaa123: On CCF it says that silver's at 16.93. ? Yes, silver has been at $16.93 today. Today is March 2nd. Silver went up almost 50¢ in value today! The contest clearly stated: The poster with the closest guess to the March 1st "NY Close" Spot Silver Price (as reported on the Kitco chart linked above) wins a VF 1892-P Morgan silver dollar. The "NY Close" price for a particular day is posted the following day. Hence, the "March 1st" price will be posted on March 2nd, which is why the contest ended on March 2nd. This is so that all entrants can see the chart for themselves, ensuring a fair basis for the contest. Kitco Silver Chart Link

No problem, lafaa123, I'm happy to clarify it...
The "nail-biter" for me: If silver had closed at $16.43 on the 1st (which was very possible!), jser and deadmunny would have been tied for first place, and I would have given away two VF 1892 Morgans. Yes, that's right, folks, I did in fact buy another VF 1892 Philly Morgan (which I can now keep!) to cover myself! (it was close!)

So close and yet so far! I assume all the winners should send a PM with their address, therefore I have. There aren't many contests that reward so many non winners. I enjoyed this contest DNA and maybe someone else will do it again.

So far, I've heard from Podoprigora, deadmunny, tls867, Nic, tumbleweedtrumpet, mad258, and SHAFTA9a. That leaves Jser, SilentAsian4Hire, ratman4762, Rigoletto, and chris12018I'll PM them.... Quote: mad258: There aren't many contests that reward so many non-winners. Well now, I think that the eleven people getting the free BU 2010-D Native Dollars are 'winners' by any definition (after all, they each won a free coin!) In my contest, you did get a reward for making a 'closer' guess. That beats just one person getting a Morgan, any day!
