Thanks Guys ! .....

I can't wait to get back to that shop again ! ....

He had a HUGE selection of LWC's there.......and I need some nice quality ones for the Dansco. I'm choosing (so far) to leave the holes empty, vs. putting "sub-par" Lincolns in there (of which I have a LOT of !)
All BU when and where I can is the plan for the man !

I have two different Lincoln alblums........the Dansco is the only one that gets the "special" attention.....

Does seem as though the only way to get one of those is to shell
out the cash. Nice coin for sure and one that seems to be raising
in value and interest.

Very nice!

Too bad you could not get that 1931-S as well. Maybe next time, as it sounds like a place you will visit again!

I like the checklist. I made my own on word
one sheet for each coin
I really like that book though
I would be interested in purchasing that myself

If I may ask, I see the $49.50 on the 2x2; was that the way it was sold, or is that your writing? I'm curious if there is negotiation in these shops, or do you have to pay as marked? I see folks at coin shows asking what they might have an item for, not sure what that shop policy was for you, obviously not a regular shop for you.-

Beautiful coin Eaglefoot: those light scratches/marks under the LIBERTY, is that common with 70s SD? My small date has similiar markings. Not sure if that means something or is caused by something or just a coincidence. thanks

Jack, this is the way it was sold, not my handwriting.
Being new at "this" shop, I paid the asking price willingly.
And there may very well be some haggling going on with coin shops, but I've not done any of that yet. "Other" venues, yes, but not at coin shops.
I find that by being a friendly frequent customer will, more often than not, get you "deals" that you don't even have to ask for ! .....

I've not seen enough of them to know that...but no, I'd say it ISN'T common, just coincidence.

I was in my coin shop last week that I'm a regular at. I bought a bunch of airtites and such, and then asked if he had a 1995S Jefferson nickel. I haven't been able to find a decent one at a price I was willing to pay on ebay. The dealer comes back with a sweet one, but the price says $3. I doddled over it a bit, because the price was high, but the coin looked worth it. Finally told him I'd take it and then he knocked the price down to $2.25 which I feel was a deal. It's only 75 cents, but when there isn't alot of value to the coin to begin with, a 25% discount is alot.

The coin "does" look pretty sweet in the Dansco ! ....

I can't wait to get back there......the guy had an INCREDIBLE inventory of Wheats for sale........and I need a lot of high grade/inexpensive ones yet to fill in there too.

Long way to go......but it's sure fun gettin' there ! .....
