Clean 2000 WAM? - Coin Community Forum

timras14 Valued Member United States 273 Posts	Posted 02/06/2012 07:51 am i know not to clean coins, but is there anything I can do for this... finally my first 2000 WAM and it is starting to rot! Anything I can do to help it out without ruining the coins value? I know its not worth much, but I would love to keep it and have it corrode worse over the years. thanks! I have a couple that are pretty cruddy too, but I'm trying to get a roll. So far I have 18 - 1998's and 17 - 2000's. ZERO 1999's. CaptainFwiffo Pillar of the Community United States 4132 Posts	Posted 02/06/2012 12:04 pm I do not recommend water. Acetone is your best bet. Search the forum, there are some threads that discuss how to use it. There's also a product called verdi-care that can deal with mild verdigris - you can follow-up the acetone with that. If those don't take care of it, or if there is any amount of exposed zinc, it probably cannot be saved. Report this Post to the Staff
