I found this penny going through roles and I thought it was a 1909 s. Its really worn out but I'm able to see the 19 plus it looks like an area above and to the right that looks like a 0. Also, what is the triangle thing at the top?

It's just too obliterated. I can't make out the date based on the pics. Too bad there is no VDB on the reverse. That would have narrowed it down a bit!

I know, I'm trying to find out what the mark is by the nine. Its might be messed up because it was in circulation for over 100 years, if its a 1909. I found it in a roll early this year.

It looks like there is VDB on Lincoln's shoulder. That rules out any date pre-1918.

Where on the shoulder would it be? Underneath like newer pennies?

Right at the arrow tip. Looks like VDB is there, but take a good look at your coin to confirm its presence. They didn't start putting the initials there until 1918.

No, it is worth at least one cent, probably three.
