I would like to know if it's worth anything more than melt for a NCLT like this. I'm not a very big fun of sterling. But this bar caught my eye. It's like a commemorative bar from the early 70s. The serial is on the edge. And some markings on another edge. The 1st mark represents the company. The 2nd mark is the date. I cannot figure out what the mark P means. This is a product from a private Canadian mint which was bought buy the Franklin mint in the 70s, apparently. Probably you have seen such 1000 grain sterling bars by the Franklin mint on the bay from time to time. Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21789 Posts	Posted 08/04/2012 12:53 am South Australian State Series. Ex RAM. Mintage: 78,100 uncirculated finish, 52,150 proof finish. I have a suspicion that some may have been re melted, but not many. Not scarce in Australia. Composition: 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper for both uncirculated and proof versions. Edge milled, weight 20 grammes, diameter 34mm. I am not into NCLT, but I would guess a value of $20 - $25 for the uncirculated, around $30 for the proof. Report this Post to the Staff
