I have a Canadian sterling coins set which I wanted to sell. How much these coins sell for and where can I sell them? I have 28 coins set of 1976 Canadian olympics. The total silver value of the coins is 30.28 troy oz. I do not want to sell on ebay and pay 13% fees.
There will always be a 'spread' between buy and sell prices for almost anything. That applies to coins as well.
You will need to research the market to get your best sell price.
With these coins, there is not much difference to be had between a specialist bullion dealer and a coin dealer in general terms.
In the case of a coin dealer, it partly depends on wheather he needs that sort of stock at the time, and how long he thinks his money is going to be tied up in it before re selling.
You need to balance ebay fees against the sell price available elsewhere.
Ive bought a few of these sets, they generally can be picked up for spot or 5%-10% below. Sometimes on the rare occasion you will see them go over spot.
On ebay, you ought to be able to get a bit over spot, but not much. Then the fees will take you right back to where swrbxxx tabbed it. I have a few of those, myself. I believe you need 50 posts to sell here- maybe there's a time stipulation, as well- so that might be an idea for future reference.
