Hi, held for a while but only just recognised as we don't collect US coin what thoughts with 1886 Indian Head Type 2. Value? thanks ErikP

Type II (est. mintage-3,650,000)is considerably rarer than Type I (est. mintage-14,000,000)and, therefore, does carry a premium over Type 1. However, in the lower grades the difference may only be a couple of dollars. I would guess the grade on this coin would be at best a G-6. I wouldn't pay more than $10-$12 for the coin.

I think this one makes VG8, especially the reverse.
The obverse color, however, might indicate cleaning.
