I found on ebay $1 silver proof 2006 Benjamin Franklin for $47. Is it a good price ? What is mintage in proof ? Thanks

I know the total mintage for Benjamin Franklin scientist is 250,000. That is also the same mintage for the other Benjamin Franklin dollar. I haven't seen any official numbers from the mint, regarding how many proof or uncirculated dollars were sold.

I think the price is average, I have seen them listed in magazine ads for slightly more. Just make sure the shipping price is reasonable.

For an NGC slabbed "Scientist" that is a very good price if it graded above 65.
Originally sold from the mint for around $34.00 and sold out in a very few days.
