I picked up this (identified?) Greek coin for my grandson, who is 2 and a half. Every holiday I try to pick up something different so hopefully he will get the 'bug' later.
This one was identified as:

Kings of Macedonia
Alexander III the great
336-323 bc.
obv: youthful head of apollo right
rev: horse galloping right
I could not find a confirmation.
Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to upload pics!

Size and weight would be good also. Where did you get the coin from?

The images on the obverse and the reverse could very well be from a coin of Alexander, somehow I can't read BASIL... or ALEXAND... into the reverse inscription.
