1942-S Fiji Penny - Struck Through Error?

Between the I and J of FIJI is an oblong shaped smooth divot that does not have a corresponding push out in the crown on the opposite side. (Medal alignment) Report this Post to the Staff

More than likely that it is a strike through because you'd hope that die wear like that would get seen to before it got that big. Report this Post to the Staff

UKPennyHunter Valued Member Spain 239 Posts	Posted 10/20/2015 04:50 am Yeah I'd go strike through and bet that whatever was on the coin wasn't a solid piece of metal because the divot is too 'soft-edged' if that makes sense? You'd normally get a hard border around the foreign piece if it was another bit of metal or something. Nice though :) Report this Post to the Staff

If it had been scooped out as PMD there should have been scrapes and if it was impact there would have been opposite side bulging. Report this Post to the Staff
