Purchased from a dealer calling this lamination but in his defense, he is a world coin collector not an error collector. Sharp edge means that this happened during the strike and being a plated coin and no exposed zinc, it could not be a detached lamination. Thank You! Report this Post to the Staff

On a struck through cloth you can see the fiber lines: It might be some paper/card stock preventing the strike there. What ever it was, was the thickness of the area affecting your coin. You might try placing a piece of paper to see if that is the thickness of that lipped area. If it is less you might try another thickness of card stock. Stuff gets into the machines. If the obverse and reverse looked the same it would ne an off center strike. The reverse looks near normal though. Report this Post to the Staff
