Three Examples Of The Same 1938-D Mintmark Problem Across Several Years

yontan Valued Member United States 292 Posts	Posted 04/23/2016 7:56 pm Years ago I found the first 1938-D nickel that had a peculiar oddity within the mintmark. It was so pronounced I put it away. Several years later I found another, showing me that more were out there, and that it must have a cause. I found the third example 2 years ago. Please check out the pictures and let me know what you think caused this mark. Could this be a D over an S? Report this Post to the Staff
