I am very new to coin collecting but when I came across this is had me intrigued. Can anyone explain why the "IN" seems to be half missing or pushed up? Thanks!  |

It is damage caused by the wrapping machine,similarly to the U of trust.Keep the search going,come back and ask questions,there are many interesting finds in circulation! to the Forum. Edited by Chase007

Roller machine damage. Most industrial rolling machines roll up the ends of both rolls so that no coins can fall out. They don't care two flips about the coins on the ends, so those coins are usually damaged just like this coin.

 Yes, copper is a softer metal and the letters and numbers can be moved by anything hitting them. |

Definitely damage and not an error. Keep looking and you'll find some cool stuff in change!
