commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12352 Posts	Posted 11/07/2018 10:41 pm I took a look through Medallic Portraits of Washington by Rulau and Fuld (based on Baker's original reference) and also Tokens and Medals: A Guide to Identification and Values of United States Exonumia by Alpert and Elman - neither had a listing for the medal shown. I also looked through the ANA's Numismatist magazine without luck. It is definitely not a US Mint medal. Based on its low-quality design and execution, I am also comfortable saying that it is very likely NOT the work of Medallic Art Company (New York) or Robbins Co. (Attleboro, MA) or Whitehead & Hoag (Newark, NJ). I realize that's more about what the medal is not vs. what it is, but at least it is something! Collecting history one coin or medal at a time!
