Let me preface this by saying, I know absolutely nothing about paper currency. I'm a coin guy through and through but I got this in change last night I was hoping you all could tell me a bit more about what I have.

To state obvious, I know it's a star from the 2003 series. Again, anything regarding the note in general, grading or possible collectible value (if any) would be much appreciated.

Well it is worth at least a dollar.
Google star note and see how rare.
I found 12 this year alone.
1 - $20.00
1 - $5.00
10 - $1.00
Fun but not rare. Some well worn
The 20 could get spent when I run low on funds.

For future reference, use this site:

I looked up your star note and, unfortunately, it is not a rare one. See the results:

It is still cool to find them, regardless.

Tell all your friends maybe they will look for you.

I explained about them in a bar once and the Bar tender went and found one.

Maybe your description has a typo, but your note is actually a series 2013....not 2003.

Printed in November 2016, and a single large run of 6.4M notes. Fun to find but not "collector " quality, unless however you collect solely from circulation.... then, it's a keeper for sure.

@steven tampa I'm blind as a bat so until dsburton linked above with that info I thought it was. Then I saw he entered it as 2013, so I looked again and realized how dumb I am.

Yes, this website lists the percentage in the summary (Series Statistics) at the bottom of the page along with the totals. http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2013_s.html
