1984 Proof Nickel Or No? - Coin Community Forum

Catracks Valued Member United States 52 Posts	Posted 06/29/2019 10:41 am Hi, I found this in a roll of nickels yesterday, and wondering first if it's a proof, and secondly, how do you tell the difference? I think I read that it's in the finish, but it's really hard for me. Maybe after I've looked at thousands I'll be able to spot them, but for now, I have to ask, sorry! It definitely stood out from the rest, and I thought maybe it's a proof coin. Am I correct? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

The newer coins will have a cameo look to them,the older ones will not and are called brilliant proof. John1 Report this Post to the Staff
