I got a Whitman folder for State Quarters (2006-2008) in the mail from Whitman this week. I don't know why. I sometimes fill out little forms in the latest Red Book. I wonder if I sent for it and forgot about it. It would have been months ago, so no wonder I don't remember.

Anybody else get one of these?

I don't need this folder, but I always take free stuff when I can get it.

They've been doing that for the last few years now. Not sure if it was the 2007 or 2008 edition that had 3 different offerings. One was for a folder like yours, don't remember the second one but the third offering was for a book on coins that was supposed to be rather expensive.

Give it to a 'younger' relative so they can start a collection. Maybe they will catch the collecting bug.

Just a thought . . .

Yes, Carl, you're right. I remember the book. I got one, I think. I'll have to look.

Great idea, Michelle, thanks. I'll take it to my next coin club and offer it to a YN.

Consider yourself really lucky. When I first heard about those offers I contacted Whitman and was told about the three different offerings. Supposedly there was an equal amount put into the Red Books at random. At a coin show there was a dealer with about 25 Red Books so I mentioned this to him. He went through all of his and only the folder, nothing else. I had 3 of them at home and I too only had the folders. Anyone that got the free book was sure lucky.
