1999 D Connecticut Statehood Quarter. Maybe Missing Clad?

slc1963 New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 10/20/2019 7:08 pm I have a 1999 ct quarter missing clad layer on reverse. Has clad layer on obverse. I saw on youtube video one sold for over 400 dollars. Thoughts? Report this Post to the Staff

Also the strike would be weaker because of the missing cladding. As already mentioned above, your coin is an outdoor find. (metal detector find. Just worth a quarter. Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 10/21/2019 1:20 pm This is a quarter that lost a clad layer before the strike. The center copper layer became the obverse of the coin. This coin weighs 4.67 grams, so the missing copper/nickel layer would have weighed about 1 gram. The missing layer caused the strike to be a little weak, but the coin shows mint luster on both the copper and clad layers.
